New Calgary Member!
Hi everyone
as you can see I am new here. I currently have a Supercharged 2003 infiniti G35 coupe, fun car.
However I am looking for something a little different as I get bored with cars FAST! I have always wanted a B5 s4. My only hesitation is i've heard they have ALOT of electrical problems? can anyone enlighten me on that issue? and any other problems they may have
Thank you all in advance for any help!
And look forward to hopefully meeting many of you!

start by looking here EdyJun's S4 Directory - Everything you ever will want or need to know about Audi S4 B5. this contains a lot of information and links. you should also search audizine and audiworld as well.
as far as electrical, the only issue i know that's common is the o2 sensors. there's the f-hose problem on the 2000-2001 the 01.5 this was fixed. i can't really say because i haven't had any electrical problems with mine.

Everyone always hears rumors of electrical gremlins in Audis.... Im on my fourth B5 in about 6 years, and I have yet to have a major electrical problem. (2.8, 1.8T, S4, S4)
Like Zoik said, there are other small (and large) problems that do come up however. The major in an S4 being the turbos.. if the car has higher mileage or has been bagged... be very careful. A full turbo replacement (Upgrade!!) is in the range of $6,000+ because you have to pull the entire engine out. When doing this most opt for the more relaible, more powerful K04's and start putting out some nasty numbers. (Mine on race fuel was 550chp-Dynod.)
Other then that.. its small things. O2's, EGT sensors, Coil packs.. mostly normal wear and tear items.
Just be sure to go over the car extensively.. and dont go to the dealer for parts and repairs. Most stick with Tunedub or another place.. skipping my mind.. Calgary Autoworks or something?
Is this Vengie from Beyond?

I was planning to daily drive an S4 for about a year and then search for more power. Would you recommend a generic chip, or would a tune be more beneficial?
and yes I am vengie on beyond

Re: New Calgary Member!
The 'generic' chips are usually best.. if you get a major brand. In Calgary you can get APR, GIAC and VAST from certain dealers, and they are reliable, true and tested. You can also buy used chips from various online forums and save a bundle.
Places like Quattroworld, Audizine and Audiworld have great online classifieds...and are great for other info.
