I imported an 06 s4 from Utah. It all went well. Do your homework first. Audi Canada was great and the warranty is transferrable. The sites quoted above have all the info you need. I had the dealer in Utah check the car before I bought it and they did some warranty work before I picked it up. Also had them do the reprogramming for the DRL's-cost me $80. They did the recall clearance letter for me at no cost. Audi Canada will also do it for you for free. You can get it in advance if you fax them a copy of your bill of sale. I had Cdn Tire do both federal and provincial inspection and then went straight to get my insurance. I drove the car around with the Utah permit on it and had no trouble-but I only drove it to the inspection and to buy the insurance. I would suggest you get a permit from one of the States and try to avoid getting the permit in BC. Probably not legal, but you'll likely get away with it as long as you have the insurance from ICBC or your provincial insurer. I even got a speeding ticket in Wa and the state patrol didn't care about my Utah tags, BC insurance and DL. Good luck. LOVE MY CAR and would import again.
