Feedback on Calgary shop - "Two Square"
Hi Folks,
Anyone have any feedback or reviews on a shop called "Two Square" located at 204 40th ave NE in Calgary? (German Car Specialist by Two Square Auto Repair | Calgary, Alberta)
I 'm scheduled to have some work done on my '02 TT on Thurs April 23 at "two square" and thought I might get some feedback on these folks before I let them touch my toy.
I went to their shop today around 4:30 PM and their parking lot was full of BMW, Porsche, Audi and Mercedes. Their shop looked clean and all the staff I spoke with were very helpful and seemed to really care about the vehicles they worked on. I sensed they took alot of pride in their work. Not "snooty", just really wanted to deliver the best product for the customer.
Anyway, just thought I'd "poll the audience" to see if anyone had feedback or reviews (good or bad) on these folks at "Two Square" here in Calgary.
Thanks for any assistance.
See all you Calgary folks on May 14th !

The worst experience I've ever had!
For simple hanging bearing replacement they managed to bent my prop shaft.
Demanded me to sign a waver of liability in order to have my car back (paid "repairs").
Got police involved in order to get my car back - paid $600 for quoted $150.
BTW - they strongly suggested to rebuild my transmission - complete BS!
I have no confidence in their professional skills and honesty!!!
Choice is yours!

Not a good experience with Two Squarefor me either. I used to own a 325is and took it to them for a reading and service as the engine light was on. They hooked it up to diagnose ($199) and found that O2 sensors were faulty and that I would need a new cat converter. I authorized them to replace O2's and they did so.
I paid over the phone with CC so I could pick up my car after hours. When I got to the lot I looked at my car and the front bumper had been run into the lift and cracked right in half. Needless to say I was pissed. I didn't touch it so that they couldn't blame me. I called and left a message about how pissed I was and that it needed to be fixed. They said that they would have to check with the mechanic who worked on it to verify that it wasn't broken when he started. He verified that it was perfect when he dorve it so it must have happend in the shop. They finally agreed to pay for it and take it to their paint guy. It took some time but finally got it done on their dime.
Anyway, when i picked up the car after $700 worth of diagnostic and O2 sensors, the engine light was still on. I didn't want to take it back to them so I just took it to my local muffler shop and told them to see if they could check the cat. The guy there took it in and put it up on the hoist. He found that the O2 sensor wire had been installed incorrectly. It was hanging loose and had been against the pipe and melted the wire sheath, grounding it against the exhaust pipe. He simply wrapped it back up and tucked it away. The cat was fine, the engine light went off and I was on the hook for only $30 worth of shop time.
I would definitely not take my A4 to Two Square, not a chance. Not only did they charge me an arm and a leg to diagnose, but they misdiagnosed and almost sold me a Bosal exhaust for $1200 and destryoyed my bumper to boot...avoid this place if you can.

Ask them what is their hourly rate, just for fun.
Then post your findings here.
I received a quote for TB replacement w/o specifying the engine.
(Mickey Mouse, where are you).
It seems to me there is more staff dealing with customer relations than technicians at 2Sq.
Prove me wrong....

Holy crap that's 'spensive! FYI, not really usefull for the Calgary crowd, but Autobahn Performance in Edmonton quoted me $95 per hour, and apparently they do good work, haven't tried them yet, but figure my day is coming!
