Default Water dripping into when trunk opens

Hi all,
I have noticed it more and more, when I open trunk on rainy day, water dripps inside, sometimes a lot of it. I didn't know it happans to that degree. Anyone else with this flaw? Is there some sort of TSB for that?

I've noticed the same thing. What I've done to minimize the water dripping (pouring) in is to hit the trunk release button a second time while the trunk is opening to stop it mid way. This allows most of the water to flow off and be channeled away prior to dripping in. Then i resume the opening.

I recall seeing some mention of water/rain/trunk issue on some forum (I did a quick search but couldn't find it in audiforum.ca...maybe a different forum?) Ever since then I've been careful not to fully open the trunk when the roof is drenched. I do open the trunk (to wash inside panels) when I hand wash the car (i.e. the roof is somewhat wet) but don't notice any water running into the trunk. Certainly water on the side panels, but nothing inside the cargo space.

Yup, add me to the list. I am sure the water leaking onto my B+O speakers is helping the sound quality....

I'll have to stop by at dealer and see what can be done about it. For now, I'll stop trunk half way when opening - to let water drain.....
How could they miss that in the design and testing!?

...maybe it only rains in Spain? or maybe they expect that your driver would wipe down the car before opening the door for you.

As far as I know, and have seen on other forums, this is a design flaw on the Q5. It happens with mine as well.

same here! no water ever touched the cargo bay (nothing beyond the rubber seals)

I can open the trunk without stopping it etc., never had a problem. (I have the automatic tailgate lift - it opens slowly)
