Q5 trunk closes regardless of objects

Q5 trunk closes regardless of objects
Not sure if this is the same for all of you but if I press the close button on my trunk, it doesn't seem to recognize if an object is in the way and will try to close anyway (with great force).
Seems like a possible danger if you had kids or even if you somehow pressed the trunk button while digging around?
Is this just mine or is this the case with any of yours?

Re: Q5 trunk closes regardless of objects
i don't have a Q5 but i never thought there would be a sensor. I think Audi (and other car manufacturers) think that man kind is smart enough that if they are actually pressing the button to close the hatch, they would get out of the way. That's why they don't allow closing the hatch using a key.

I don't' agree with this design either, but closing while object in the way is normal. There is no sensor. While lid is closing if you press the close lid button again it will stop.

Re: Q5 trunk closes regardless of objects
I just tried this on mine...2011 model....the hatch stopped closing after I put a little pull, didn't need to pull hard, it was a light pull and it stopped
now i feel much better!
(after it stopped, it actually bounced to the top almost like a garage door, but I am not sure if it was my hand acting)

Yes, this design is the same on all Q5s, either by holding the trunk lid and/or pressing the button while in motion. Bottom line is it's all manual there are no sensors.
