Same thing happened to my Q5 - TMC started working all of a sudden for 4 days and then shut off. I called Sirius and they had no idea (as usual) - then they tried to upsell me on a bunch of things - told them to mark down that i "would" have purchased everything they offered only if traffic worked in Canada - then i hung up. they are useless... They said i could transfer my account to the US if i had a US address..I said i would make one up and call them back..

 

Before you go through all the trouble to get either a legit or "temporary" US address, I'm not certain that SiriusXM (the US one) will be able to get you traffic info. A few months ago SiriusXM had challenges with the fact that my music and data ESN are the same number. The only advantage that I see with getting a US account would be to take advantage of their free trial period (which I don't anticipate includes traffic). but if you do get traffic, please update us. If you find a loophole and don't want to publically post it, at least give us the chance to PM you.

Correct - Sirius US CANNOT send traffic and radio to ONE ESN number.

 

According to this post on Audiworld there is a single ESN package available for Music + Traffic on Sirius/XM US that somebody was able to get on both a Q5 and A4:

Vrey odd. They told me you can't. Frankly the traffic info we get here is way too limited for the trouble.

 

Well, according to that post, he had to speak to a supervisor before being able to get that package. Agreed it is very limited in Toronto, but just hate not being able to get something I know is available.

 

I spoke to Sirius Canada today and the guy told me the traffic package will be available soon as Sirius Canada took over XM and it's just a matter of putting the packages together so hopefully it will be available soon ,he said a couple of days

 

They said the same to me 3 months a go. Let's believe it when we see it.

 

My 2012 Q5 seem to have 2 ESN.
