July 2010 - Audi announced that it has started assembly of its Q5 compact SUV at its Aurangabad plant in the Indian state of Maharashtra, with the company planning to build up to 1,500 units per year exclusively for the Indian market.

I had a hard time finding this info that confirmed that the production was just for the Indian market.... I thought I would post it in case some people think that the models produced in India would be for other markets.

 

Adrena, thanks for the info. Although the cars made in India may be just as well assembled as the cars made in Germany, I for one want to know that the German car I am buying is truly made in Germany or the Italian car truly made in Italy. It would ruin it for me if I purchased a Ferari and found out it was assembled somewhere in Manitoba.

 

As long as Factory Trained Techs assembled them and not some sweatshop child labourers, then I'm fine with it.
