Q5 Comfort Hatch by Kufatec
So what happens when you've already walked 10' away from the Q5 and forgot to press the hatch close button?
I'm far too lazy to walk back to the car, but the hatch is open. Kufatec to the rescue!

There it is in action, the Kufatec Comfort Hatch Module for the Q5. Push and hold the hatch button to open. Push the lock button twice to close.
It only took 7 months and trying 3 different modules but I wanted it to work dammit!
Although I don't see it on their site right now, I got mine from Kufatec USA.
It was a pretty easy install by removing one trim piece and soldering a couple of wires. (And I don't do ANY soldering!)

Re: Q5 Comfort Hatch by Kufatec
I just visited both Germany Kufatec site and USA Kufatec. The part no show in Germany Kufatec site is 33801 and in USA Fufatec site, the same part number using for Q7. Can you confirm the part number?

This is awesome, I ran into this issue last week, I was about 20 feet away and walked back. I thought to myself, let me search the net there must be a way to close. Awesome. Thanks.

Have a look in the "Notes" on the german Kufatec site. The module for the Q5 reads:
Notes:
* This module can only be used for car's that are equipped with an electric trunk.
* Suitable for the Audi Q5 from interface Software-Index 1.48

The Q5 uses HW v2.2 / SW v1.48 and is the only model they list specific software for. I was sent the first one in June (in the picture below.) It was HW v2.2 / SW v1.44 and it DID NOT WORK. I received a replacement in September that was SW v1.47 and it also did not work. It finally worked when I plugged in the third one that I received two days ago with SW v1.48.
It would seem that Kufatec USA isn't stocking the part for the Q5. When I first ordered it they had to add it to their site. I'm guessing I was a bit of a PITA and they wanted to get the issues with mine worked out before selling any more? I have emailed them to let them know that this version finally works. I'm sure if you contact them they will order you one. One a side note, Kufatec USA is at the same address as OEMPLUS.com. If you've ever ordered from them before, they are super easy to deal with.

Re: Q5 Comfort Hatch by Kufatec
Last winter I preferred driving the TTS (w/ Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D) in the snow over the Volvo XC90 (w/ Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow) that I had until February and even the S4 Avant (w/ Dunlop SP Winter Sport 3D) I had for the rest of the winter. As soon as the snow fell and stayed this winter, it has been all about the Q5 (w/ Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow). It still feels like you are driving a car, but the traction and stability has been incredible. It does have a touch more clearance and you feel like you have a little greater command over the road, but it doesn't feel at all like you are driving a crossover, especially not an SUV. Even though the dealers won't have winter tires on their cars, I'd strongly suggest spending some quality test drive time in the snow and then again this summer.

Oh and did I mention you can close the hatch by pressing the lock button twice on the key even if the engine is running?
This is super handy in a situation where you aren't planning to get out of the car but your passenger needs to access the cargo area before getting into or after getting out of the Q5. Unless they drive a Q5, most passengers aren't familiar with the fact that you have to press the button on the hatch to close it.
Now I don't have to worry about the passenger closing the hatch (or even understanding how to) because I can do it from my key while sitting in the driver seat. Thanks, Kufatec!
