Potential new Q5 owner

Potential new Q5 owner
Hi everyone. I'm in Canada (Saskatchewan) here. Considering buying a Q5, or Volvo XC60.
For those who have owned the 2011 Q5 are there any words of warning? Words of wisdom? Has it been a lemon model, or pretty rock solid?
Any advice or extra knowledge you could share about this vehicle would be much appreciated.
Oh and opinion if you got one: 2.0T engine or the bigger one?
thanks!

Re: Potential new Q5 owner
I have had my 2011 Q5 for 2 weeks now, and it is a solid, well built, quality vehicle.
I also had the chance to drive an A4 with the 2.0T before delivery of my Q5, which is a 3.2L V6.
Of the two engines, I highly recommend the V6. The 4banger is popular, but I highly recommend the V6. The 4cyl feels like it is struggling all the time, the V6 is so strong, very nice feeling...
The Nav is worth the money, don't even hesitate. Just do it!
If you do order one, expect a 4-5month wait even though they tell you 3 months. Just an FYI.
My 2cents.

agree with anders81. This entire forum will rave about the Q5, but the biggest drawback is the wait time (worth the wait though).
I'd suggest reading all the Q5/Q7 posts as well as some of the maintenance/general tips (it's a lot of reading but very insightful)
I don't recall the specific date, but orders after March(?) might be MY2012. Like any vehicle it may have more options, but might also lose some MY2011 options.
Before the Q5, driving was such a chore. With the Q5, I now look for any excuse to drive anywhere.

The best you could do is to search this forum for 2.0T vs v6. It's been discussed here widely, lots of good information.
Don't hesitate with nav, it's well worth it. Again, search this forum for threads and more information.
I opted with no pano roof, but I’m in minority when it comes to it.
All in all car is very solid, best design so far, very sharp looking. And it's pure pleasure to drive. It has some quirks here and there, but there is no perfect car out there.
Lately I have seen/heard some 2.0T for sale at dealerships, so if you not picky and timing is good - then you may ****** one right away.
Good luck!

Re: Potential new Q5 owner
The Q5 was my first European manufactured vehicle. I took delivery of a 3.2 Premium in Sept, after a 12-week wait, with Nav, B&O, Adaptive Headlights and Sline. After I had placed my order I had an opportunity to drive the 2.0T and afterwards was glad that I had stuck with the 3.2. If you have the opportunity, definitely drive both as they are very different. I would highly recommend NAV and B&O, while the Sline is very much a personal choice. All in all, after 6-months of loving the Q, I would not change my order. Colour is Meteor Grey and Cinammon Brown.
