New Q5 owner and digital speedometer question.
We took the plunge today and bought our new baby, a white 2011 Q5 S Line.
We are importing our Q5 from the US. Can anyone tell us if we can change the readout on digital speedometer from mph to kph?
Thank you in advance,

Re: New Q5 owner and digital speedometer question.
My Understanding is that indeed you can change the digital readout to MPH, from the MMI.
I believe warcity mentioned how to do it in a thread on this forum.
How was the process of importing the car from the states? did you save a lot of money?
I had thought about doing that ourselves, but ended up being scared off by the uncertainty surrouding warranty coverages etc.

Here is a link about importing from the US:
https://www.audiforum.ca/q5-q7/58333-importing-us.html
In it, Warcity also describes how to change the fuel consumption to L/100 km with the VAGcom.
I called Audi Canada earlier this year and they said that Audi warranties are valid for US imported cars.

Re: New Q5 owner and digital speedometer question.
We have done a LOT of research on this before we took the plunge. As one would when dropping $50K+ on a vehicle.
Audi Canada will honour the original manufacturer's warranty on a vehicle bought in the US. The length of warranty is the same 4 years/50,000 miles (80,000 km). However Audi Canada will NOT honour any extended warranty purchased in the US and you cannot buy an Audi extended warranty on a used US vehicle from a dealer in Canada. You can however buy a 3rd party extended warranty from an Audi dealer in Canada that will be honoured it does however cost a little more.
We saved a huge amount of money buying in the US over Canada. We bought a 2011 Q5 Prestige Plus S-Line with navigation and B&O sound with 2000 miles on it for $10,00 less than we could get an equivalent vehicle for here in Canada even after paying GST (5%), duty (6.1%), RIV fee ($209), transportation ($1800-$2000), out of province inspection($150), recall letter from Audi USA ($100)and fee to broker($1000). If you drove down yourself to pick one up and spent a bit of time ensuring the paperwork was correct you could save another couple of grand.
There are a few differences in the packages between the US and Canada most significantly when it comes to the S-Line package. In Canada it all comes as one package in the US it is split in two, the 20" wheels and 3 spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters are one package and the rest (badging, honeycomb bumper inserts, door sills etc) is another package. Also push button start is an option only on the Prestige trim level.
Hope that helps.

Re: New Q5 owner and digital speedometer question.
Yes you can change the odometer from miles to km by selecting the car settings in your MMI also it's possible to change the fuel consumption mode and many more measurements...
