new to the forum - got my Q5 last night
Hi guys, I am new to the forum.
Just ordered a white on black Q5 last night with S-line package, extra set of 17" 5-spoke winter wheels (does anyone know what they look like???), premium and tech package (navi, DVD, back-up cam), Audi Care for 4 years (free oil changes, I guess)...
I traded in my 2003 Mercedes Benz CLK55 AMG.
The Q5 is to be delivered mid Feb.
Reason for change - got married and baby on the way
Bye bye AMG, hello to Q5.

Sounds like we are on the same path. We just had our little one on tuesday and now am looking forward to putting her in the new Q. Out of curiosity, what did the Audi Winter Wheels run at cost wise? I briefly touched down on the topic with my dealer but was told they were $1000+ per rim plus tire extra.
All the best with the new family.

Congrats to you!!!
The winters are 17" 5 spoke, the cost is $2,750.
I also got 5 yr minor dings, dents, scratches, rips, key replacement etc protection - not sure what the name of the Warranty is without the paperwork in front of me.
The dealer also suggested tinting the front side windows (for $275) as only the rear ones come tinted. Your experiences?
Anyone here drive a silver Q5 with Spackage and lives in south Etobicoke? Send me a PM please.

In all of my cars I have had the windows tinted after meeting in person with the tint installer. Having said this the installer has always been a close friend of mine who owns the tint shop.
Ask if they use a plotter or if they cut the tint freehand. A plotter should ensure a perfect cut (Depends on the guy doing the job and the quality of materials and tools they use). Having said this cutting free hand by an expert who has done it for years can also work extremely well. I like to meet with the installer in person with the car present to ensure the front tint matches as closely as possible with the factor rear tint. (I prefer a close match).
Make sure the quality of tint they use is top notch. (I prefer Solar Guard), and make sure the tint will not "purple" or "blue" or fade over time. The good installers shouldn't even use the bad tint IMO as they should only sell the good stuff.
Tinting the windows is a very personal choice as different ppl perfer different shades, etc... and some prefer to leave the fronts completely untinted. If you have never had the front windows tinted before, borrow a friends car who has (With the shade of tint you are looking to have done) and try driving around at night. Seeing through the windows on dark streets can be a challenge, but again is a personal preference issue.

Thanks for the tips GenSpec - all my previous cars have been tinted so no issues there. Still waiting for the dealership to confirm their price.
Thanks again!
