Default How often do you see a Q5 in the wild?

Since I've ordered mine, I've seen only 2 on the road here.

It was a different story while I was in Vienna for 10 days. Seen at least 1 almost every day! Most common was the 2.0 Diesel.

There are only about 10 Q5s in Winnipeg, I believe. So it's still a rare enough site that I slow down to check them out whenever I see one. Haven't yet seen any in Stratos Blue, which I understand is a completely new colour for Audi (in North America anyway). I'll finally see the colour first-hand in a couple of days, when I take possession of my new Q5.

And oddly enough I'm in a position to verify Roby's comment about Vienna. I only passed through the Vienna airport last week and I saw three of them on the airport grounds. Two of which were marked with the Vienna International Airport logos. Here in Winnipeg, airport staff use rusty Dodge pickups, and in Vienna they us brand new Q5s -- S-Line no less!!

I hope that the Q5 remains a rare site. It will really help sustain the attractiveness of the vehicle if people aren't bombarded with its presence. Like, say, the X3 or the RX350 (which are beautiful, but simply too commonplace to stand out any more).

Including mine, I know of eight Q5's on the road here in Regina. I have seen one silver base model that was bought in Saskatoon in for service and one black premium parked in front of the shop. (Might not count because I know the car/shop owner.) Driving, I have seen one other silver base model on the road near the dealership and one meteor grey premium.

Something to note, three of the four still had the OEM load bars installed on the roof rails. None of them had any kind of load or attachments on the load bars.

Something everyone should be aware of is that the ESP system has a sensor in the roof rails to detect whether or not the load bars are installed. If they are installed (whether they have load or not) the ESP system adjusts itself to take into account that there may be up to 200 additional pounds on the roof. This does affect how the car handles in a situation where the ESP engages and controls the car. It is recommended that if you aren't using the roof rack, that you remove and store the load bars.

What I like is that you don't see too many Q5's around town, just enough to turn heads and I hope it says like this. This is primarily why I bought it. You'll see mine on HWY 60 near Algonquin many times this summer, planning to take that baby off roading.

Finally saw Stratos Blue at my local dealership here in Regina. Pretty cool colour. It will definitely be a unique one.

Last week I saw an Amethyst or Lava Grey 2010 S Line Q5 on Portage Avenue in downtown Winnipeg being driven by a woman. The sun was setting and it was across the street so it was hard to fully distinguish. I was in the TTS and it was the first one I have seen in the Peg.
