Front Parking sensor???

Re: Front Parking sensor???
Hi Rhyno,
I recently had the Kufatec parking system installed (APS+ - Front/Rear Retrofit - Audi Q5 w/MMI Radio [36843] - $1,254.95 : Kufatec USA, Inc., The #1 Supplier of OEM Volkswagen & Audi Retrofit Harnesses in the World). It is interesting that you mention that your GF wanted it because my wife wanted it.
Allow at least 6 weeks for delivery. It was a big installation job according to my mechanic.
I do like it. The big difference is the live visual graphic. You can see in real-time as you get close to objects. The "beeping" tone and volume can be customized for front and back sensors.

Re: Front Parking sensor???
Thanks Tommych.
I have the factory Nav package which comes with rear camera and front/rear parking sensors. I just want to know if you can have the sensors on all the time.

Re: Front Parking sensor???
As you know when you put your shift in reverse the sensors automatically come on, when you go back to drive after you go over about 10 km/h they shut off. Using the vag com cable you can change the speed at which they go off. By increasing it to say 100 km/h you can potentially always have them on by clicking the park button you can activate them at any speed as long as you don't go over threshold you've set.
This is the only way I can think of doing this.

Re: Front Parking sensor???
Yes because the front and back sensors are connected to the same module. Another reason is because when you're parking (specially parallel) there is most likely a car in front of you and you need to back and forth a lot to fit the car in so front sensors must be on.

Re: Front Parking sensor???
That is dead on warcity; it's exactly what that is for. It's not a design flaw, but additional security feature.

Re: Front Parking sensor???
The majority of the time I drive straight into a parking stall, I don't parallel park. This would be the case for most people.
When you turn on the parking sensors they should stay on all the time, even if you turn the car off. Just like the blind spot sensors!
I think this is a flaw and if anybody can find out how to keep the parking sensors on all the time then please post your solution!
Thanks

Re: Front Parking sensor???
Hi Rhyno: I posted a solution above. This is the only solution at the moment.
I don't think there is any car out there where the sensors stay on all the time. If so, every time a car comes close to you from the back your car will start to beep, that's can make for a very noisy drive.

Re: Front Parking sensor???
Warcity, I did see your solution.
The SUV I just sold was a 2007 VW Touareg and it's parking sensors stayed on all the time with no issue's. We also have a F150 that has rear sensors that are on all the time.
