Angry Driver door won't close

My Q5 has been great with no problems up until an issue with the door. Upon closing the driver side door it would "bounce" and not latch with the door mechanism. Ended up driving home hanging on to the door to keep it closed (careful when turning). It was at the dealership for one week as a cable inside the door had to be replaced and brought in from the U.S. Apparently this is not a common occurence, if this happens don't bother trying like I did to fiddle with the door latch mechanism and bring in for service!

Had a neighbour had that problem with his truck. I reached in, opened the door with the inside door handle and reset the latch, the door worked fine. He was a bit embarassed but on to something else

also consider temporarily trying the manual locking method (skinny/hidden side of the door has spot for manual key to manually lock)

Hello, to clarify, the issue with the door is it was pysically broken internally as a factory cable came apart subsequently rendering the latching mechanism innefective. It would not lock by any means or was it able to be manipulated to close. The dealer did manage to get the door to close after disassembly of the interior door panels. At this time the door could not be reopened and a driver would have to enter/exit from the passenger side.
