So, 2 oil changes? Seems a little much for the 750$, or is there something I am missing?
Wow. I was under the impression AudiCare was good for four years of ownership of your new Audi. Therefore, that covers roughly at worst four oil changes. If this is the case, $185 is not too bad for oil changes at the 8,000 interval that Audi advises when compared to other manufacturers. Is this not the way it works or am I misunderstanding this?

No it's good for 4 years, 80,000km. It covers all of the major services in that time. It doesn't cover wear and tear items like brakes, rotors, windshield wipers etc.

Does this mean that I can have up to two oil changes per year for the coverage period of AudiCare?

It doesn't cover oil changes whenever you feel like getting one, only the major services recommended by Audi which is clearly outlined on their website.

From Website:

Audi Care covers the manufacturer-required regularly scheduled maintenance services at 25,000 km, 40,000 km, 55,000 km, and 70,000 km, or 5 years from the original vehicle in-service date, whichever comes first.

• The cost of Audi Care at the time of the new vehicle purchase or within 12 months or 20,000 km is $750 MSRP

Additionally, an Audi Care Certified pre-owned Vehicle Plan is available. A customer who purchases an Audi 2008 model year or newer Certified pre-owned vehicle from an authorized Audi dealership in Canada will have the opportunity to purchase the Audi Care Certified pre-owned Vehicle Plan. The plan covers manufacturer-required regularly scheduled maintenance services at 85,000 km, 100,000 km and 115,000 km, or one year from the last service, whichever comes first. Audi Care Certified pre-owned plan expires 7 years from the original new vehicle in-service date.

My sales guy was telling me it was only covering service up to 15K... and I even clarified it with him because I thought that seemed a little low

Just reinforces the fact you don't take anything at face value these days

Just to clarify here in regards to Audicare included oil change intervals: 8,000km, 25,000 km, 40,000 km, 55,000 km, and 70,000 km. Is this right? Seems a long distance to go from the 8 to 25km (17,000km’s). That will likely be about a full year with our driving.

Also – does anyone here go for / recommend a 1,000 to 2,000km pay out of pocket oil change? I have done this with previous vehicles to get the initial break in filings out sooner than the 6-8k recommended synthetic oil interval. We have just turned over a thousand on ours this week so I was thinking I may do this.

According to 13S4, AudiCare does not include oil changes.

Your oil will be changed at the specified intervals. Most new engine Audi's don't need oil changes every 5,000km.

My GF drives an A4 so I am just looking at her print out. It gives service at the 4 intervals but notes the manual to see what you actually get as required for your car. Maybe a brake flush, change your cabin filter and coolant flush is included but I am not sure.... and also doubtful. Also some of these fluids will be 'lifetime' fluids, like the diff fluid in a newer RWD. Most service programs like this are rip offs.

Interestingly enough you can get it within 12 months or 20K kms of the in service date....If they let you buy it that far after the original purchase I would imagine its a HUGE money maker for Audi.

If the stealership wants to throw it in for free that's fine but I wouldn't buy that for $750.
