Day 1: Condensation in both headlights...
Hi guys/gals,
Just picked up my 3.2 S-line today. Quite the vehicle, i must say. I'm extra vigilant for little manufacturers quirks/defects just so i can get them sorted sooner rather than later. When i got home I noticed both headlights had significant condensation in them. It didn't rain today so its been there for a little while, perhaps from sitting on the lot before delivery or from their wash/wax. Wondering if this is an easy fix when i take it in. Anyone else experience this?
thanks

Re: Day 1: Condensation in both headlights...
I actually had this exact same problem... the first day home with my 2011 A3 both lights fogged up quite a bit. I heard people complain about this and just figured I'd have to get them replaced by the dealership; however, towards the end of the first day the moisture went away and it has never returned... even when I pressure wash it. So, if it doesn't go away in a day or two, I'd suggest going to the dealership.
Headlights usually aren't meant to be 100% air tight and the moisture levels might have to equalize at first... maybe that's what happened with mine.

Our A4 had one that would fill up with what we thought was condensation every time it rained or the car go washed. Turned out that the headlight lens had a large crack on the top, under the hood. Out of warranty so I filled it with silicone and no more problems. Unfortunately if has discolored the lens to have a slight yellowish tint, but that is better than $1200 to replace it.

Happened to my Q5 withing 12 hours of picking it up. They replaced it AFTER they told me it's normal. I spent a good 5 minutes laughing when they told me this.
