Bluetooth Music on Q5 2009
I have a 2009 Q5 with Nav & iPod integration. I got really excited when I came across the bluetooth adapter for the music interface so I could stream my music from my iPhone. However, if I understand correctly the adapter does not work with 2009 Q5 with Nav?
Its odd because when I am using bluetooth in my Q5 now and I'm in a phone call I can play a song on my iPhone and it will play throughout the car, but once the call is disconnected it will cut the song back to the iPhone's internal speaker. Is there anyway around this? Are there any plans for a change? Is there any aftermarket adapter that can fix this issue?
Thanks,
Patrick

Re: Bluetooth Music on Q5 2009
Interesting question Patrick. I didn't even know this was possible. I am assuming you've looked in the manual book? If you've recently picked up the car you should have a free session with Audi where they take you over all the details of the car. Another suggestion is to call up the service adviser they might be able to help you over the phone.

There are a few aftermarket BT handsfree kits out there that also do A2DP BT music streaming, but then you are committed to the handsfree for the phone as well.
The Audi AMI connector will give you better connection and clarity, MMI integration and will charge your iPhone. Right now, it's the best option for the 2009 Q5.

Thanks for the replies.
I can share in the frustration. I don't understand why Audi won't address this. I am coming across press releases from 2008 discussing a 'future update,' yet see no new information on it.
I just came across this company, any thoughts?
Q5 - 8R : Kufatec USA, Inc., The #1 Supplier of OEM Volkswagen & Audi Retrofit Harnesses in the World
thanks again,
Patrick

Kufatec is a well established company from Germany - btw located in the North Of Germany where I am originally from.. kind of . Can be trusted! Search ie. on the forum for the 'Comfort Hatch Module - Audi Q5', one of the Q5 fans favorite toys.

In particular, if you are referring to the Fiscon Handsfree, that brand is probably the #1 choice of aftermarket BT handsfree of VW/Audi drivers. It's supposed to integrate with the MMI system perfectly. In my opinion it's just kind of an expensive (and partially redundant) way to get BT streaming when you already have BT handsfree and AMI.
The Kufatec Comfort Hatch has worked really well for me. Unfortunately it took a lot of back-and-forth between the US supplier and myself to get it right. Personally I'd try to work with Kufatec.de directly if you can. I'll save you the search...
