Totally agree with you on that fact.

Using that Microsoft example, the updates could be pushed to the vehicle and stored on the harddrive until completely received and verified, and then the update could be processed. not too difficult especially with a a 30gb hd to store the updates.

Go to your navigation screen click the setup button and one of the corner buttons will give you the version. (i can't remember which but I've seen it a few times).

Someone with a 2011 Navi should be able to confirm the latest version.
