The SQ5 Technik base MSRP is $59,600 (according to the link/pic provided in this thread earlier)
Nav $3,100
21” wheels $1,000
B&O $1,000
Tire Pressure monitor system $350

Difference is $5,750 on above.
Argument could be made that maybe one doesn’t opt for the 21” wheels but I think they are meant to come with the SQ model just as the 20” s-line wheels are meant to come with the S-line model (look funny without).

These prices are without any additional BS dealer charges, registration fees, freight & PDI, and provincial sales tax.

We were able to negotiate $3250 off MSRP when we purchased. Part of that was a Shell supplier discount due to my GF working for Shell. Based on my experience with dealing on the top end model of a vehicle in the past (two SRT8’s) I highly doubt one would receive the same amount of negotiation room on ordering an SQ5 4-6 months before there are any on the lots in the country. That’s where I was getting more into the 8-10k overall difference comes into play. Who knows though maybe they will negotiate on SQ’s and maybe one could get in at only around 5-6k more for her. That would be a no brainer IMO. I love them!
Congrats on the ride. I bet they will look amazing in person.

DO NOT pay for TPMS. You can enable it for free with a Vag Com Cable. The cost of the cable is $349 and will give you so many more benefits.

You were able to negotiate off of a brand new model in Calgary? I would assume the shell supplier discount is the entire $3250. They are really hard to deal with since both dealers are owned by the same family.

On the TPMS note, a friend bought a 2013 S4, didn't get TPMS, it's not as easy as enabling it. I tried with no luck. You actually need the TPMP hardware installed as part of your ABS in order for you to be able to enable the code in VCDS otherwise VCDS will throw an error. I spent hours on his car with no luck. If you plan to switch between summer to winter rims couple of of times a year I say get TPMS.

The Shell discount is $500, the remainder was negotiated over a couple visits at Glenmore. We waited 8-10 weeks to get the color and options we wanted (ordered from Germany). Maybe that had something to do with it because I didn’t have to negotiate that hard really IMO. Perhaps they were more flexible because we were willing to pay for the $750 Audi Care plan (I felt it to be worth it – we’ll see), and we did pay some of the other BS dealer fees (Registration fee $395, Air & tire tax $120). We didn’t pay the $595 financing fee that some people are getting dinged for here – it was originally on the invoice but they missed it in a revision. We put about half down so maybe they waived it?

Correction to my previous post in regards to discounts. We ended up with the following:
$2000 negotiated discount
$500 Shell supplier discount
$1500 Audi April Promo (we took deliver in April – my understanding was all 2013 Q5’s with April deliveries would get this but I’m not 100%)
So $4,000 Total discount off MSRP

Sorry for the previous confusion here. I actually pulled my invoice out to check since we had gone back and forth a few times and didn’t actually know we were going to get the April promo till the day we took delivery.

Hmm i've heard of quite a few others having the same issue. My vehicle had the 1AT Module so I was able to set it without any issue.

I wasn't sure it was actually working because I never deflated a tire enough to set off the sensor (~10psi difference). Just before I switched back to my summer wheels I got the warning on my dash which actually made me happy that it was working.

Our late MY2013 Q5 also came with the 1AT module, and I also didn't have any problem with enabling it. I'm surprised the 2013 S4 didn't(?)

Default Re: 2013 S4 steering issues

I have a 2014 S4 lined up for late September delivery. My concern, after reading dozens of blogs and chats is still this notchy/wavering steering issue that seems to be present due apparently to the electromagnetic steering. I spent over two hours at my local dealer discussing this issue with both the service advisor whom I know personally and because of the fact that she is basically on the front lines when it comes to any complaints (so I trust her take on this). At one point she went and got the head techy who has been with this Audi dealer for over 20 years. He is suggesting all this talk about changing the steering rack will not help anything in this regard. He did state that wheels, rims, tires and you name it could all be contributing factors to what people are experiencing. When I first read about this issue I believed that this was Audi's first attempt at using this technology. He immediately stated that this technology for the B8 machines has been around since 2006 and used in the A3 with complete success. He agreed that this technology does feel and drive somewhat differently. They had a car in today in fact where the owner believed something was not right about his steering. They have given him a loaner while they continue to check out his vehicle. The techy also stated that they had already run all the diagnostics and that he took it for a drive on a variety of roads and felt nothing unusual. The issue around attempting to duplicate the scenario when the techies are present shouldn't matter because if there has been a failure at any time prior to the check, the diagnostic equipment has a built in data retrieval feature that brings back any previous failure of this component. They are, however going to continue to keep this gentleman's car while the customer drives the loaner. When he returns the loaner I will be driving this A4 all day to see if it exhibits these strange characteristics that are being played out in these blogs and chat lines. I have incidentally driven a 2013 S4 (brand new) for about an hour but the dealer did not want me to run up the miles thus I didn't really notice anything unusual but in fairness did not get to put it through its paces in any unusual driver situations. Certainly I will be taking this loaner in myriad driving conditions to ascertain whether the steering is an issue. Audi must know about the 1000's of concerns out there and for them to just ignore these concerns seems inappropriate to say the least. Particularly, when people are now throwing out the 'Lemon Law' scenario. Thinking about this situation it reminds me of the Apple Corporation who never admits to any flaw or defect in their product. i.e. battery issues etc., etc. Whenever I have made contact with them they always suggest that it's the first they've heard of such an issue. Utter nonsense of course! Fortunately even though I have a vehicle coming, if I choose not to get it my local dealer will just move it on to some other customer. I haven't even had to put any $$$$ down. Cheers, will be interested in hearing any other perspectives on this.
