Default 2011 Q5 2.0T Premium S-Line (Black on Black)

Hi All,

I've been lurking around through this and other forums for some time now and I just wanted to drop a line to say "thanks!"... I picked up my brand new 2011 Q5 2.0T back in the beginning of November and it was with the help, info and advice from these forums that really helped guide me through it and answer some of my quesitons... I have put on about 3000+ clicks on the beast now, and I'm loving it more every day!

My ride is as follows... I'll wait to get a inside/outside wash to take some shiny photos and then post them up for all to see.

2011 Q5 2.0T (Black on Black)
- Premium
- S-Line Package
- Panorama Sunroof
- Bang & Olufsen Sound System
- Navigation Package

** I negotiated $2500 off the MSRP of $56,495 (before tax, but including pdi/freight) and the dealership also throwing in all-weather mats for the front, back and trunk... Also, I negotiated a swap for the 20" summers that it comes with for 20" all-season's of my choice

I'm not sure how this compares for deals out there with other dealerships or anybody else, but I'm just plain happy to have the keys in my hand and enjoying the ride every day!

That sounds like an awesome deal congrats.

i think that is right in the sweet spot of deals you could expect on a 2011 2.0T, many people are negotiating much less.

Interesting that you negotiotiated a change of tires from summer to all season.

I thought i was getting summers, but instead ended up with all seasons. At 20inches on the SLine, i figured the traction wouldn't be very good, so i went with a dedicated set of 18inch winters.

Please send up some pics!!

Hey Ryan,

I'm just about to pull the trigger on a Q5. Where did you buy yours from, and how did you like their service? Also, which tires did you swap the summers for? Capilano Audi told me there would be a charge for the swap, so good to know you managed to do it for free.

Looking at picking up:

2011 Q5 2.0T
- Lava Grey
- Premium Plus
- S-Line
- Panorama Sunroof

Also, how do you like the Nav system? I'm wondering if we'll regret not getting it..

Nav is awesome! (there's plenty of raves about the NAV in the q5/q7 section) As well the rear view camera (and it's 3 ft, 2 ft, 1ft distance warning) helps minimize the guess work when backing up. The two modes (backing up and parallel parking) very convenient. (too small for DVD, but I don't get in the Q5 to watch movies). *note traffic update is NOT included as a free trial for MY2011
Other thing to consider in the Vancouver area is time for delivery. Some mention on this site about 4-5 months waiting. If you are negotiating price between dealers, be aware that delivery times may differ (if urgency is important for you).

VERY nice deal you got there my friend.
I didn't get so lucky and it cost me 58,300 with delivery early February before tax.

Good news though is that the dealer called me yesterday to confirm the Q5 is in! I Couldn't believe it, I was expecting delay with all the forum posts I've been reading.

Picking it up this Thursday! Can;t wait!

Congrats again on the buy!

Which dealer are you picking it from?

My appointment is Thursday (tomorrow) around 17:00 at Audi Prestige DDO on st-Jonhs with Bedik and Franco.

Got to drop the rental tomorrow after work and then get a ride to the dealer.

Have appointment for Pneus Rally in Dorval for the installation of my winters on Friday noon, then off to Orford for the weekend.

Hey Warcity, I went black and I love it. So it looks like a salt shaker now, when it's clean and during the summer months it looks fantastic. My last four cars were all grey or silver for the last 15yrs. and I got soooo bored of the colour, if you are gonna go dark grey why not go black. It will make my life difficult but nothing looks better than black, when it's shiney!

Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black.

You have GOT TO give me some tips on how to keep her shinny. I car wash and I car wash and I wax and I wax.
