2.0T diminishing oil level between oil changes.. ?
On-board computer recently detected a decrease in oil level, -suggested to add 1 liter. It's been 6500km since my last oil change
I called Audi and they asked I take the Q in for inspection. In the end they said the 2.0T engine's turbo consumes a small amount of oil and this is normal....
They also said it happens on all the A4's, A5's, & Q5 with the 2.0T
Has anyone else experienced such a thing?

Last year when the "new" 2.0T engine came out, I kept asking over and over on this forum "has the oil leaking issue been addressed with new engine" of course no one was able to answer this.
I even asked 3 salesmen and they all avoided answering the question.
I guess it's been answered now. I can confidently confirm that the old 2.0T 6 speed engine had this issue for sure.
Sorry my friend I didn't want to hear that this is happening to you.

Thanks for thinking of my ride buddy I appreciate it.
Based on the I read and was given, this impacts only 2.0T engines. I'm not sure of the old 1.8t engine. The supercharged engine and 3.2 aren't impacted unless something has changed.

Re: 2.0T diminishing oil level between oil changes.. ?
Service at Audi refused to acknowledge there was an issue with the engine, in fact the guy said it was due to the fact that turbo engines use oil for lubrication and to cool down. But why would the oil level diminish even if this was the case?
I don't know what to believe. If like warcity said there was some history with this engine for leaking oil than thats also an option.
Anyone else experience this problem ?

You may want to open a case with Audi Canada and get their thoughts on it.

Re: 2.0T diminishing oil level between oil changes.. ?
Did some research on the net and learned the following:
Turbo requires a cooling down time. How long a time really depends on how hard the car was driven prior to wanting to turn it off.
A turbo requires oil to circulate through it in order to keep it cool and lubricated. When you turn your engine off, the Turbo will continue to spin only oil will stop being supplied to the turbo unless the engine is running. THis can cause the turbo to heat up, and for residual oil still on the turbine blades to "cake" on to them. Over time, unless you allow a col down period, you will notice a substancial difference in the performance of your turbo.
Most car manufacturers will not even mention this to you when buying a car with a turbo, and if they do, they will generally recomend a cool down period of 10 seconds. I would suggest 30 seconds after regular driving, and 1 - 1 1/2 minutes after hard driving.
Some manufactures install 'A turbo timer' that can keep an engine running for a pre-specified period of time, to automatically provide a cool-down period.
I'm going to call Audi Canada and find out more..
