Default upgrade diverter valve?

Just installed GIAC chip in my 07 A3. Wondering do i necessary to upgrade the OEM diverter valve to forge diverter valve? One of my friend tell me that since 07's OEM DV is better than 06, i don't really need to upgrade the DV...... is it true? Pfaff Tuning quote me $279+installation of $200 which is $479+tax for the Forge DV. Is it a reasonable price?? Thanks for reply!!

I'm not sure about your specific engine but a DV is typically pretty easy to install with just a few clamps.

$279 for a DV is also pretty high, I would shop around including in the US for potentially half that retail price.

I bought a pair of new stratmosphere valves for my 2.7T for slightly more than your one DV quote.

Do you know the part number of your current valve ?

Yeah you should upgrade the DV as the current one will not last very long. And the dealer is insane buy it of the internet get it shipped and do it yourself its a matter of putting the car on the jack and doing a simple 2 clamp swap. Make sure you do not install it backwards as you will run unlimited boost and the turbos will go! Just a little tip

the price of the dv sounds a little high, but what really gets me is the price of the installation. sounds like they are charging you 1.5-2 hours of labour. should be only a 1/2 an hour job if you do it yourself.

$479+tax = $550

got forge 007 DV for $120 from the U.S last month. And 2 local tuning shops quoted my for 30min labor ~$25...

also 1) spring kit ($10 if not included) colour code:

- green 5- 15psi

- yellow 15-23psi

- blue 23-30psi

- red 30+ psi

2) You need to clean and grease your Forge DV ( ~once a year )
- Use grease able to with-stand a lot of heat.
- sugg: mobil 1 synthetic grease $4.99 ( It's red )

Cheers !
