Default Just starting out .. help

Hi,

I recently just purchased myself a 2004 a4 1.8t FWD auto/tiptronic.

I am starting fresh and am looking to do some all around mods but trying to stay cost efficient for now. Where is a good place to start? Intakes? chips? etc?

What companies do you recommend?

Thank you

A chip is the best bang for the buck by far. After that I would say wheels with summer tires, suspension, or exhaust in any order!

agreed... go with a chip, intake an exhaust for performance, rims/tires and suspension for handling...

Do you have any brand recommendations? what do you use? intake/chip companies... reasonably priced... this is just something for fun.

Thanks

I myself would suggest a slightly different order: chip, suspension (sway bar first, then shocks/springs or coilovers), wheels/tires, exhaust, K04, etc.

APR, GIAC and Revo all make flash-chips, and my preference goes in the order. For something that's really good but not cheap, MTM is another option.

Live with the car and see what it needs. Chip is good then suspension - I like Eibach pro kits and H sport sways. Do the sways first.

I am running the Eibach pro kit with H sports sways and just love it (on an A6Q). Unless you want to spend the money I feel coilovers are a bit much for everyday use.

Thumbs up Re: Just starting out .. help

I prefer the Bilstein Sport shocks, better handling...... The coilovers are too bumpy and not good for everyday use....
