5000cs quattro question
Recently my audi (87 5000cs quattro) began hesitating and cutting out while climbing steep hills at rpm higher than 3000rpm, while in cold weather. checked out ignition system and all vac lines...ok. Car runs perfectly otherwise. Disconnected the electrical connector to the fuel pressure controler (located along side the engine left side) doing so eliminated the problem. Car runs great....what is going on ,can I leave this disconnected?

Re: 5000cs quattro question
Best online source of info for these cars right here...okay maybe not as I can't post URL's until I have five or more posts...google sjmautotechnik and go to his page on diagnostics. Everything and anything you ever wanted to know about the type 44 Audi is right there.
Odds are the gas tank is starting to rust and the crud is blocking your fuel pump intake. Pull the pump out and have a good look, then at the very least put in a new fuel filter. Are you using 94 octane? Exactly which plug did you disconnect?
Tried pulling codes from the ECU yet?
It could be any number of things but then again if it's running fine now, what the heck don't fix what ain't broke.
