New from Georgia
Hi Everyone!
I recently purchased my Audi used from a local car dealer. I got a very good deal on it, and now I feel I might have made a mistake as issues have started to pop up.
First major problem is something I think I figured out today. I crank the engine and it revs up smoothly but then before idling switches off. It doesn't misfire or choke but simply decides to switch off. I realized that the problem is probably with the Engine immobilizer.
I took the car for an oil change today (wanted to get full synthetic cuz I have no clue how the previous owner kept the car and wanted the best for my car). As I pulled in the mechanic there told me that there is a pretty bad leak under the engine. He changed the oil but I have to go again on Monday morning to hose down the underbelly and inspect where the leak is (its probably somewhere around the belts or the gasket).
Its bad that I have issues right in the beginning as I got the car. And I have limited funds as i'm a college kid. But I always wanted an Audi! and I have signed up here to get to know more about my car and find the absolute best way to take good care of her. She is my baby and I want the absolute best for her.
I would be happy if people can tell me about issues I should lookout for and since I have never kept a car that has done over 50,000 miles before, general issues I should be aware of.
Thanks everyone, I look forward to learning alot from great enthusiasts.

Re: New from Georgia
Some more details about my car:
Its done 86,502 miles as of today
The engine and transmission feel perfect (touchwood). I have heard a lot about the CVT transmission causing alot of issues, but I didn't really find any and the tiptronic works brilliantly. That is the reason why I got the car cuz I felt there were no issues with the drivetrain
It has a Bose Audi Symphony sound system, it works brilliantly!!

Re: New from Georgia
welcome to the forum and congrats on the car. as for the probs though i am sorry to hear that because no one wants that type of stuff when getting a new car. can the stealership you got it from not look after these type of things under some sort of warranty seeing you just got it? im sure tho if you post some of the deals you have here under the A4 section more people will see it there and respond. congrats again on the forum and finding us! best of luck in the repairs!

Re: New from Georgia
I like the name stealership...but basically yeah i can't really get anything out of the dealership as there was no warranty to it....i'm just concerned about the oil leak hopefully it is not big. By what it looks like the leak has increased over time in the last two weeks....
I will post at the corresponding forums with issues...
Thanks again!
