New Forum Member, New Audi Owner!
Hi all,
I was a long time BMW owner (1992 325i 6MT that I purchased new in Lahr, Germany). That car served me well for 18+ years. Since I found myself again posted to Germany (Canadian Air Force member) I decided that it was tiime to get a new piece of German engineering. After much research and test drives, I was torn between a BMW 328i or an Audi A4 P+. All in all, the Audi seemed to be the better fit for me. So I placed an order for a 2011 A4 P+ 6MT, Quartz Grey with the B&O stereo upgrade and have had zero regrets. I hope to enjoy the German autobahns for the next two years before I am posted back to Canada

Welcome to the forum and congrats on a great car. Thank you very much for serving as well. For all of us who have never experienced the Autobahn tell us more?

Re: New Forum Member, New Audi Owner!
The autobahns have changed a little bit since I was first in Germany in the early '90s. Back then they were mostly speed limit free (except for certain built up areas, ramps, etc). Now they are more limited with speed restrictions, 130 km/h being usual. However, there are still quite a few that have areas of no speed restriction. When I had the BMW 325i, I found out that it's top speed was 240km/h. I've only had the new A4 up to 200km/h so far, since there was too much traffic to safely go any faster.

I went from a 1992 BMW 325i to my Audi as well hehe. Just wish I could take it on the Autobahn. Every time I'm driving in Europe it's with a crappy diesel rental.
In any case, welcome to the forum!
