Timing Belt JZ Inspection Campaign Letter
Attached is the 4-page "FAQ" that I received from the service manager from Againcourt Audi when I asked them about what is Audi of Canada doing with regards to the Timing Belt lawsuit in the U.S.
Basically in Canada, Audi has not admitted to any fault yet on the timing belt, but simply stated that they had misprinted the service interval for the timing belt, and as such will extend warranty to 169,000km for the timing belt.
The warranty will allow to you be eligible to be reimbursed for engine repairs should it be determined by Audi of Canada that the damage was caused by a faulty timing belt.
If your timing belt hasn't broken yet it does not entitle you to a free timing belt change. The only good thing about this warranty is that you might be eligible for reimbursements.
There is an important decision matrix that will tell you whether you are eligible for this extended warranty on the timing belt.
