I agree with u Shoeguy. I did some research before I bought my tires with sensors from the dealership. The car's pressure monitoring system is gonna keep popping up and beeping at u for the whole winter time you have ur winter tires on. That's why I didn't mind spending an extra 1K on the senors, and don't think about putting on the summer sensors into your winter ones, cuz the sensors are extremely fragile and will have a really high chance of damaging them while doing the switch.

Firstly, all one needs to do is turn off TPMS with a VAG cable to avoid seeing the "error" in their display. I do this for my winters and then turn it back on for my summers (when I remember) and it takes all of 3 minutes. Since I check the tire pressure regularly and can tell when I'm down a few pounds just by driving the car I personally cant rationalize the expense of the sensors. If you dont ever check your pressure then it isnt a bad idea to have them but better expect poor handling and gas mileage as well as uneven tire wear. BTW, TPMS sensors can be purchased for substantially less than suggested and I dont understand why anyone would rationalize spending $$'s for something they dont need (whether their car is worth $50k or $500k).

I left the TPMS out. Not too concerned about it. A small message appears on dash display, doesn't bother me.

I like to shop around. If I used the excuse I spent a lot of money on a car, and just bought the first and most expensive thing I saw all the time, well...that wouldn't be a good process, now would it? Tirerack would have raped on shipping as I was buying rim too.

It's all Original Audi Manufacture Rims + Gislaved Winter Tires + TPMS. Size: 225/50 R17. I still have the original receipt to prove. I will upload pictures for you if your still interested.
