Ya know, it could be, even though it worked a few times. I'll put a new bulb in 1st just to rule that out. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again...........mike

Re: who's got "high" mileage on their TT?
Now up to 260,000km and very little required over the last 12 months.
Revo chip in for over 75,000km and loving it! Still manage fuel economy of 6.8 average, that's about 750km on a tank. Winter time drops to around 670.
Reason for resurrecting this post. UK forum guys finally found a "simple" fix for the microswitch problem.

Basically you purchase the switch. It's the plunger type. You just separate the top from bottom and replace your old switch with the new top. I've ordered these (delivered to UK and then shipped to Canada).
My passenger door has had the issues for a couple years; and drivers side now playing up.

Re: who's got "high" mileage on their TT?
I've got 307,000 kms on my 2001 Audi TT. It's thankfully been dealer serviced since bought new in teh US, with all maintenance records. It still goes strong, and has much of the glitchy stuff fixed. Instrument cluster, etc.
I'm wondering with the age of the vehicle and the km's, would getting the Revo chip be a recipe for disaster? It's not my daily driver.

I have the exact same problem as amlaw ( driver's side fine, passenger side no light, window drop and car will re- lock itself if unlocked using the remote and entering the vehicle from the passenger side) on my '03 225 silver coupe with 260k
I've had a few issues with mine like pads and rotors
shocks
premature tie wesr on inside of rear right tire, (many alignments)
hazard switch
Instrument cluster
the above mentioned door issue a few times, and yes expensive to fix
a dodgy HID headlight module
cracked dipstick
torn gearshift boot
A broken rear spring
Worn tie rod ends
Thermostat
Failed fuel pump
Ignition coil replaced as per warrenty service action 28F2/J1
Eng Combi valve and hose cracked
Timing belt ( a few times now) not cheap but much cheaper than ruining an engine.
CV joint boot
Most recently my Haldex stopped working correctly. It was staying engaged all the time most problematic when reversing with full steering lock! But I got a good deal on an entire haldex/rear diff assembly. Much much cheaper than a new Haldex controller.
So a few things. Over the 6 years I've owned the car.

honestly i don't know what kind of my engine my car has but i just bought it and it has about 150,000 KM already when i asked around everyone said this is a great deal you'll find no better i asked about the same thing your asking about and they said that all audi's have a reputation that they live a while longer because the price you pay you get quality for it, so don't worry about it there are cars that have more mileage on them and are perfectly fine, just take care of it and it will all go great for you good luck

For sure! Audis go the distance. But you will have to pay if you want all the extras and options to keep working the way the did when the car left the show room. I love the the brand because nothing beats German engineering. Audi have a great balance between sport and luxury (in my opinion) compared to the other German marks. I'd buy nothing else!

Re: who's got "high" mileage on their TT?
Just sold my '02 TT 225 Quattro that had 291,000 miles (468319 km) and was still running strong. It was my daily driver, ~37,000 mi/yr, mostly highway miles with cruise control. Dealer maintained as needed, timing belts done on schedule, new tires every 15 mos, mostly OEM parts until last year. Replaced it with an '04 3.2L with DSG transmission that was well-cared for, so I hope to get 450000 km plus with this one, too. If maintained, no reason why TTs won't run well for a long time...
