Default Exhaust and Air Intake Upgrades on 2001 TT Quattro, 180HP

Hi,

I recently chipped my car and was thinking of adding the K&N High Flow Air Intake Kit 57-0477, plus installing the non-resonated Milltek exhaust (dual exhaust, therefore I have to change the rear valance to the same as the 225HP). I plan on doing the installations myself.
Any advice?

Also, I'm torn between the resonated and non-resonated exhaust. I'm not sure what the resonated cat-backs sound like. I can't find sound clips that compare both. I'm afraid that the non-resonated will be too loud, and/or the resonated will be low and you won't even tell the difference between the non-resonated and stock.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My brother had a non resonated on his 2004 225hp TT and it was terribly loud to the point that he changed it to a resonated one. Now it has a nice growl and you can talk in the car on the highway. Not sure of the brand of exhaust he had then nor what is the one he has now.

I have a 2008 2.0T MK2 TT Roadster and upgraded only the muffler to a Oettinger quad exhaust. The sound is amazing. You can barely hear it on idle but it give a very nice sound under acceleration. Very reasonable at highway speed also.

Miltek has a nice product generally.

Getting an exhaust simply for sound is a waste of money

speed > sound... not the other way around

Beaven,
Thanks for the input. I really don't want a deafening exhaust. I want it to perform well and also have a nice sound, so maybe the non-resonated is the way to go. Muchas Gracias!

Daonhathai,
As much as I appreciate your input as well, I have to disagree with you on that one. In my opinion I would say speed=sound. Everybody's different and have different tastes. I respect your opinion. I don't want my car to be faster and sound like crap, nor do I want it to just sound great and not perform. I think both are equally important. Let's be honest, for someone to spend over $1000 for just a couple of extra HP, I don't really think that that money is solely being spent for the extra 10HP (give or take).
