GH Meet at Audi of Mississauga - Oct 8th 7:00pm

Re: GH Meet at Audi of Mississauga - Oct 8th 7:00pm
I would rather see the techs from Audi do a Q&A session once a month on the forum, say on a thursday night between 8-10 pm in 1 thread.
This is something we could really promote and atleast have a good historical record of their replies.
We can even identify the techs / engineers with unique icons.

I completely agree and wanted to thank alex, rick, mike and matt for allowing us all to come out and setting it up! I really did enjoy myself and was great to meet some more Audi people. Love the slide show, the Q&A was excellent. i didnt have any question myself but was nice to hear some of the thing people were asking. i have been still talking about it even today. thanks again guys/gals!
Want to take this opportunity to thank Alex, Rick and all of the members of the Golden Horseshoe Audi Club. You are a great group of enthusiasts that make doing these type of events worth while.
In order to hold more events like this we ask those of you that have been members for some time make that decision to be a supporter at any level. Your contribution will allow us to host different events throughout the year at different venues.
Thanks Again!!
Mike

The 25Quattro is a guy from the GTA area
The B8 S4 in second pic is our own Heinkel (Mark)

the B7 S4 with Rotiform wheels in the first pic. Haven't seen that car around.
The 25quattro car is neat. Or is it a Light Silver A4/S4 with DTM bumpers/skirts?

Your right. One of our GH members has a black S4 and he was there as well. The B7 S4 haven't seen him around either and don't know who he is. Alex was speaking to him and may have more info. The 25quattro is a true one imported from US. The owner is interested in selling. Really didn't talk to him much other than it has a replacement engine under warranty.

It was good to meet some of you guys, and I hope to meet and mix with more of you in the future.
Suggestions: Having a Q&A session with a subject expert is a great idea, and I love the idea of having an Audi tech available at these meets or on the forum. However, it is generally easier to keep people listenting and engaged with more of presentation format (like Alex's slide show). When it makes sense, Q&A follows the presentation. Wide topics for the presentation will appeal to the largest audience. Some ideas:
1. A history of Audi in racing worldwide. Both privateer and factory efforts and their impact in various racings series. This is too large a topic for a 1 hr presentation, but a good overview could pique a lot of interest.
2. An in-depth description of the Quattro AWD system and evolution over the years. Along with this, an unbiased comparison with other manufacturer's AWDs (not just the Audi propaganda.)
3. A history of Audi models and interesting marketing campaigns.
4. Others??
The challege of course is finding the right people to present. Info can all be dug up online, but nothing beats a great speaker with encyclopedic knowledge.
My $0.02

Valid points, and I share the opinion about being noisy. It was hard to hear Matt with all the people having their own conversations and not listening. Someone suggested to make up a list of the top 10 questions people may have and answer them. I personally like this idea.
We mentioned it from the get go that we really had no plan, other than Matt answering some technical questions and myself showing pics of my visit to Germany.
What would you like for us to do next time? Any suggestions?

For the 1st meet, I think it went well, I agree to the noise and the lack of organisation, but I am sure the next time around it will be smoother and more on time.
My suggestion for #2 would be to perhaps have more techs there and another sales rep to help out the event.
