What Gas Do You Use?
There have been a number of discussions on gas usage and why. I am interested in knowing what everyone uses. I have created this poll and will compare it to other polls from other forums then post the results.
If you use a particular gas lets hear why. It may be because the station is convenient to you, or you have a particular points card, or you believe the gas is superior to the rest and you get better mileage.
Lets hear you comments and experiences.
Thanks

Re: What Gas Do You Use?
I've tired all the popular ones... - Sunoco 93, Shell 91, Esso 91..
Esso because its 1.069 when Shell is $1.10 for 91 octane. I do not buy into the whole "one gas is better than another" bullshit. They are all pretty much the same thing, and the minor differences that may exist are almost totally irrelevant on an FSI engine and are also overshadowed by my regular maintenence practices anyway.
I'm going to be paying to have my intake manifold pulled soon and have all carbon deposits removed ($640 bucks...) and after that just do BG treatments every 20,000km. Should keep the carbon down to a minimum. I'm at 75,000km so it will be interesting to see how bad the deposits are. I'll hopefully get some pictures of that to post.
The most important thing for me is octane and 91 is 91.. I'm not tuned for 93 so I don't notice any difference with it. Pulling the same 0-60 times on all fuels by the way.

Re: What Gas Do You Use?
Psychologically - I feel better using Shell 91 (now Petro 91). I like the Airmiles but I also read somewhere that Sunoco 93 has ethanol additive so it's not purely rated at 93...
I don't see any difference in milage or performance. But like Hoeser said, 91 is 91 I just stick to one brand and Shell seems to be it.
The worst is when I'm in a bind and I really need to top up and I can't find a Shell anywhere. I HATE going to Esso. I don't know why I just don't like them. I'd rather run dry and call CAA...

Re: What Gas Do You Use?
Esso is by far the cheapest in my area and I buy it from an independant and popular truckstop with new pumps with speedpass... also I will always go there because they leave the little locking latches on the pump so you don't need to hold the handle while filling. 63L is a lot of fuel to sit there and hold it and I always fill up damn near empty.

Re: What Gas Do You Use?
After reading many threads and on other forums most seem to use Shell V Power 91 as they do not use any Ethanol
I also use Esso 91. Every thursday they have this special where you get the Gold 91 octane for the price of the Silver 89 octane.

Re: What Gas Do You Use?
I have used sunoco 94 from day one with this car. 94 is good with the car being done for APR stage 2+ running program 93.
i have used a few times now petro canada as they took over some of the sunoco stations and have 94 at their pumps!

OK, I'll throw a wrench in the works.
I almost exclusively use Chevron Supreme 91 Octane. Or if there is no Chevron station nearby I'm OK with the high octane Shell. I know you guys East of BC don't have Chevron , but in BC, it and shell have the best reputations.
