Paint faded from bird poop
I have a 2001 metallic black TT, and got the hood repainted about 8 months ago. I've waxed it twice with carnauba since it was repainted, and it was recently pooped on by some birds. I washed the car to get the poop of ASAP (no more than 3 hr after it was pooped on), but the poop left fade marks. I was wondering if anyone else with a black metallic car had this problem, or if it might just be a bad paint job. I saw the person who painted the hood, and they said that poop, tree sap, etc does that almost immediately. Do any of you think that it's a faulty paint-job and a load of BS, or if bird poop actually has that effect.

Re: Paint faded from bird poop
I have a spot on my roof that i can see when cleaning, deff from bird poo. Its not damaged or anything the colour just looks off.... 3 hours letting it sit doesnt seem that long mind you, but it does happen.

Bird poop contain acid that will go thru wax and attack your paint pretty fast. I suggest to buy some mild paint polish with a proper pad and to put back the shine in...and you may like that new shiny spot so much that you might want to do the whole car.
