Smile New Member - Looking to buy (A4 Wagon)

Hey guys,

New user here looking to get a bit of advice.

First for some background. I was previously a Subaru owner and owned a 2008 Legacy wagon:

Unfortunately last week some lady in a Sunfire thought it would be hilarious to T-bone me and push me up a curb. Got a call from the adjuster today and the damage is $18,000 so the car is a write-off.

So now I'm in the market for a new wagon and always wanted an audi. I was looking into the 2008 A4 Wagons, budget $20,000 - $30,000 All in. I'd prefer if the km's were less than 75k.

I found these 2 cars and was wondering if anybody had any advice on wether they are a decent purchase? If not can you guys recommend me some cars that are out there for sale? Also what should I look after when purchasing a used Audi (Common Problems)

Hi Mario...
You will have to do some extensive reading on this forum and try to learn as much as you can. Having said here is my advice:
1st link is not working but 2 nd link seems nice especially with the s line package.
No matter what you do you MUST have available the complete owner history, maintenance records and run the serial vin number at your local Audi dealer.
You will soon have to see if the timing belt/ watr pump/belts/tensionners have been done since you will have to do it by 100k and or 5 years (around $1000/$1400)
Even if you have a car roof or carfax report if the previous owner had an accident and never declared it it will never show up on the report.
Have it fully fully checked at your local Audi dealer or better yet an independent Audi garage .
Finally I would consult the owner of your nearby friendly FIxAUto body collision body shop as they could easily tell you if the body was ever painted...
Rubies are great cars and reliable, Audi take it to another level but you will have to do some more frequent preventive regular maintenance and enjoy that amazing German feel!

That about sums it up. I too came from the Subaru world. You will be pleased with the luxury and performance. The interior is in a whole new league.

Reliability may not be as high ( No problems to report, all maintanence) Upkeep will be higher, and the car requires premium fuel. You should try and locate a reliable independant Audi shop and develop a relationship with them.

Good luck
