Negotiating for a new A5

Negotiating for a new A5
Hello,
I am planning on ordering a new 2011 A5 Audi 2.0T (my first Audi!)
. Just wondering what kind of deals people have managed to negotiate recently? (% off MSRP)
I have read on forums that getting more than 3% off is very hard, but I have also heard rumours of up to 6%
Thanks!

Re: Negotiating for a new A5
Most deals are made in the after market such as Winter Wheel and Tire sets, 3M film, Tinting, Paint and leather protection, Rubber floor mats, Rock guards, etc. get them thrown in on the deal. Not many dealer will wiggle on price, especially on orders. Good luck with it.

Re: Negotiating for a new A5
We're looking at negotiating for a new A4 in a month or so. Audi sales are pretty strong from what I've been reading lately. The only thing that I can see to use for leverage is the fact that Audi is trying hard to pass BMW in sales.
I had hoped to get 5% off list, maybe I'm dreaming.

At the end going back and forth well i saved 2300 Dollars which was 5 %off MSRP which made the 2 of us happy as you have nothing to lose as all they can say is no .
Good luck as this is an awsome car as this is the car of my dreams .

Re: Negotiating for a new A5
I know this thread is originally meant for 2011 A5's. But I guess the title can still be applied for 2012 as well. Over this long weekend I have purchased a 2012 A5 Premium Automatic with 0 option for:
MSRP: $48300
Metallic Pearl Black: $750
Wheel Locks: $150
Total List: $48950
Discount 1: ($250)
Discount 2: ($2202.50)
Total Financed Amount: $46747.00
I got roughly 4.7% off the list. I check the Carcostcanada invoice and dealership generally get a 8.3% discount. So the dealer in this case got 3.6% in sales.
