Default How often do you clean your leather seats?

And what kind of cleaner do you use?

I wipe mine in every 1 or 2 weeks. Am I doing this too often? Also, I use the armor all leather wipes.

There has been some previous discussions on leather cleaners and frequency, use the search feature to locate those threads. In the mean time my two cents is to avoid using the leather products that you typically see at CDN Tire and such. They are a silicone based product that coats the leather rather than treats it leaving it all shiny. All the reading I have done indicates that there are two steps. One is to clean the leather and the other is to condition the leather. Leatherique products are designed to do this. Leather is a natural material that has pours like our skin. Leatherique cleaner is applied in the heat so that the pours are open and the dirt can be removed. Than after cleaning you have to condition the leather.

Hope this helps. Here is a video that might explain and help.

I have an acquaintance who is a detailer and he gave me a bottle of the leather cleaner and a bottle of conditioner that he uses (not sure the brand). I use the cleaner once a year and the conditioner 2 or 3 times a year. I find that to be enough to keep the seats supple, mind you I only drive 10K km a year so not in my car as often as most ppl. He advised me not to use the cleaner too often.

i use the armor all gel, i let the car bake in the heat with windows closed for a few hours after i clean the dirt off the cracks, than i hit it with the armor all gel, looks amazing after im done, but it only really lasts a day or 2, it helps the leather stretch more so its less likely to crack, ive known that audis and BMW's have the best quality leather, i have a cadillac and a nissan with leather and u can tell the difference between the 2, that the auids leather is thicker.
