Help! Water coming out of vents

Help! Water coming out of vents
It has been rainy as heck in Calgary lately. I went to drive my S8 today and could hear water sloshing around when I braked or accelerated. I looked at the back seat and water was pouring out of the heat vents! Like LOTS of water. I guess the rain found its way into the climate control vents. I basically can't drive the car because water will spill out. Anybody heard of this? What should I be looking for to fix the problem?

Re: Help! Water coming out of vents
I'm just considering how this is happening, and I think it's because I was parked at a nose down angle and lots of rain probably just pooled into the intake. Never happened with any other cars, but I guess they're all different. Just freaking sucks because I have to get the water out somehow now. I guess I could run the heat full blast and evaporate it. I dunno.

Re: Help! Water coming out of vents
considering your options are disassemble your HVAC system, or take it to the stealership which will lose a bunch of screws and break clips off all your interior panels and not tell you, i would just blast the heat and put a towel in the back, if the water was going to short out anything, it would have happened already.
if you want to wait for it to evapoate, its going to take weeks, in which time mold will most likeley form and make matters worse.

Re: Help! Water coming out of vents
Thanks for the replies. I have a shop vac and just held it up to the back seat vents. Seemed to get it out of that compartment, but I can still hear it behind the center of the dash. If I turn a corner quickly it pours out the foot heat vents in the front of the car. It keeps f**cking raining and I suspect it's still getting in somehow, even though I'm not parking on a slant anymore. If i turn on the climate control on high, it starts making gurgling sounds.

LOL I like that description and that does suck best thing to do is trace the point or opening where the water is getting in. I really dont know what to tell you other then offer my help and we can figure something out

Re: Help! Water coming out of vents
If you run the water/ steam through your vents it might break any seals and leak elsewhere I would disassemble or get a shop vac and go to a store like home depot buy a straw like hose attach it to the vacum hose and seal it up nice and tight push that hose into the vent and suck out the water. Or Cyphen it out

Re: Help! Water coming out of vents
its an S8 so its at worst 7 years old. This is kinda crazy.
I'd go to the dealership (not to have them fix it)...but just to ask them about it. These forums are great, but who knows who you're talking to/getting advice from.
Try to speak to one of the service techs at the dealership directly and see what they think.
Cheers
