ECS Tuning V-checker scanner

Re: ECS Tuning V-checker scanner
In regards to anything other than Ross Tech Vag-Com, I think it's a mistake for anyone to purchase any other brand as Ross Tech is what is used at Audi dealerships. Everyone at OpenRoad Audi uses this software. Some independent shops use Snap On or Genesys but in the end Ross Tech is what you should use on an Audi as it's the only one that is approved and accredited for use by Audi techs.
BTW: Which speed sensor are you referring to? Vehicle speed (km/h) or engine speed (RPM)? Because both are replaceable. I don't know off-hand what the costs are as I have a different engine but I know for a fact they are replaceable and simply running your Vag-Com will not fix the problem if the problem lies within the sensor itself.

How you obtain the things you own is your choice. I perfer to purchase what I have. To me, while money is important, I can always earn money and it's the satisfaction knowning that I worked hard for the things that I have as to why I would purchase a genuine Vag-Com. Hope that answers your question.

i was talking about the engine speed sensor G28 the one that sits ontop of the bellhousing, i can see it, but cant reach it, stupid audi design, the second firewall is in the way of the sensor, iwas about to cut out the metal, but paid to get it done.

Things placed in very odd areas of the vehicle that seem nearly inaccessible is normal on an Audi. I just helped remove a tranny on a B5 A4 to replace the clutch and it took us nearly 6 hours just to remove the bloody tranny. And I've struggled for well over 3 hours trying to remove one stupid *** little nut on my exhaust manifold to replace my catalytic converter on my A6. This is just the way Audi designed it.

There is a write up on VW Vortex or Euro Addiction about that sensor. I can't remember which website has it but I do remember reading about that. To cut the metal sounds crazy, it's a good thing you didn't do it.

Re: ECS Tuning V-checker scanner
The only thing that I don't like about this VagChecker is the massive spelling mistakes and a little more instruction would help on how to use it. It will only let me use about 10 options on it out of the 100 it has. But other then that I saved about 500$ since I got it haha. I been writing up a DIY on this forum so if anyone else has any tricks they can add to it, it would be a great help. BTW I believe my auto levelling headlight sensor is gone or just came loose, would anyone know where or how to replace it?

Re: ECS Tuning V-checker scanner
lol ye, mine is the 3.0, its hard to reach, i watched them do it at the shop, it took them like 2 hours, they had to raise the car up and down nearly 4 times, ive asked everywhere for help, no one helped me with this stupid sensor issue, i realized the intake had to be removed, and the connects around it, i was like NOPE! so i just took it to the shop, i broke the stupid coolant level sensor wire and spilled coolant all over the 02 sensor....
Not that many people have experience with the 3.0 30V motor. Most people think that it's just a 2.8 30V bored and stroked to 3.0 but it isn't. Similar architecture but a very different design.
