Re: Definition and proper use of the term ''Ricer''
When I was younger I was into the sport/import scene... Though with my personal cars, it usually involved subtle customization- tint, custom painted interior trim, pedal covers, shift *****, custom sound system etc.... and yes usually a cai as well lol. I personally do not have a problem with the spoilers and body kits- to me it's all about quality. If you are gonna put a body kit on your car, get a good one (not one full of waves and cracks) and install it so it fits properly and paint it nicely. I respect clean looking mods, even if they are not my style.
The only thing I can't stand is the fake stickers- bilstein stickers on a car with stock suspension, turbo stickers on N/A cars, type R stickers on neons, and so on lol

Re: Definition and proper use of the term ''Ricer''
At any rate, I don't particularly care who agrees with me or not or who likes the style I like or not. That was the whole point. My car looks how it does because I like it. I don't flame people for keeping their vehicle stock either. To each their own, as you said.
And concerning the hood latches, they're made by Aerocatch. What I was pointing out was that they're installed in the reverse direction of what the manufacturer recommends. The point of their installation on a composite hood (f-glass, c/f, GRP), isn't really to save weight. It's more of a safety item: The latches distribute the load at 2 points over a wider surface area instead of one. The local forces that the oem latch exerts can sometimes cause a structural failure where the latch is bolten on. Google it...there are plenty of examples out there. Just ask the guy that bought the Silver Bullet B5 S4...His fiber images hood tore itself free from the latch at the track...now he's running hood latches. The weight savings even if you get rid of the oem latch, cable and handle is marginal. You're talking a pound, if that.
For all you hoodpin/latch haters
In case you don't know what the Silver Bullet was and to hurt the eyes of those who dislike aftermarket body mods and stickers...ENJOY :
(I don't like stickers very much, but wtvr)

Yeah, kbonarek, I would never run a CF hood - especially on the track - without some form of safety catch. I think most people don't like them because they don't know what they're for, or they're on a car with a stock hood - Haha! I don't need a CF hood, though - mine's already aluminum

Yeah, I run a CF hood and trunk. I'll step up to CF front fenders eventually as well, but that's far from now...widebody conversions are $$$ especially when using oem parts.
RS4 Conversion
Aluminium panels would have been nice...not sure why they never offered aluminium panels on the S4's. Hood/Trunk at least...the A8 has been aluminium for the longest time.
I wonder if the RS4's come with an aluminium hood now?

I know the guy who owns that car now. It's a mess.
that ghetto RS4 replica front bumper fits EVER WORSE now than it did after that accident.
