Should I clean my rims this way?

Should I clean my rims this way?
First off, if this is not the right place to post this, please let me know, I'll post it somewherelse
I have a 1 month old 2011 Q5 with the stock 10-spoke rims (forgot the size, 19' ? maybe).
Ok, I first rinse/spray it with cold water from the hose, try to clean the normal dirty off.
Then I get a cloth (normal table cloth, not high tech ones), then try to wipe off all the greasy stuff.
Then, I rinse it again with water.
Then, I dry it with a clean cloth (again, normal ones).
Lastly, I use 1 Armor All Protectant wipe per rim.
I just wanted to know if this is a good way to clean it and protect it?
If you have any suggestions or even better ways please let me know.
Also, if it includes buying new stuff, my budget is really tight, so yea.
Thanks for reading.

Might want to use some products to help clean your wheels instead of just rubbing off the dirt. I like to use Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner.
eShine Canada: SONAX Wheel Cleaner Full Effect (16.9oz)
Here's also a good video from Adam's Polishes about cleaning your wheels:

Re: Should I clean my rims this way?
I would suggest the following... been using this regimen for 6 years.
Once or twice a season (depending on how often you drive your car)...do an intence "wheel wash". For me, I spray the rims down with P21S Wheel Cleaner, let sit then wipe down with soapy water and a cheap MF towel. Rinse and pretty much let it air dry.
Then use some Poorboy's Wheel Sealant on the rims... put on, wait, remove... do it twice to make sure you cover the wheel. This stuff makes brake dust just wash right away and prevents pitting.
In between, each time you wash just do as above without the wheel cleaner... just some soapy water and a wet MF towel.

Same as prodigy but I use Sonax Wheel cleaner instead of P21S.
If you seal them with a wheel sealant you will see how easy dirt comes off next time you clean your car.
If I'm not wrong P21S is cheaper than Sonax Wheel Cleaner and should do the same job with a detailing brush or any microber cloth.
