Cost of importing wheels from USA?
I'm considering the purchase of new rims from a USA company on EBay.
In addition to cost+shipping, does anyone know what other costs I would have to pay?
- I assume there would be a brokerage fee payable to Fedex (say $50?)
- GST + PST (13%)
- Any other costs I am forgetting about?

Re: Cost of importing wheels from USA?
I've done it. Bought on ebay from "Wheels and Caps". UPS shipping from Florida was about $US 150 including insurance, and it was another $180 CDN in brokerage and GST costs (based on the wheels themselves costing me $800 US). Compared to what I would have to have paid here it was a reasonably good deal. Note you shouldn't pay PST, just GST (which is really what they mean by "duty" in this case). Some states charge state sales tax on internet stuff so double check that.

You've pretty well got it covered. Mine had another weird fee attached...can't remember what it was called. It was about $15 on top of the $40 brokerage and pst/gst.

Re: Cost of importing wheels from USA?
If you have the option, get them to ship USPS with some sort of expedited delivery. They don't charge any brokerage.
Incidentally - you can join the class action suit against Fedex & UPS for the supposed 'brokerage' fees. It's a big load of horses**t.
