Res or non-res catback???

Re: Res or non-res catback???
second off, resonation is a second muffled section really. They have ZERO effect on power. The resonated section of good exhaust (like Fast Intentions 2.5" x-pipe catback) is a straight through perforated core section that just takes some of the rasp out of the exhaust, as well as reduces overall volume slightly (not much though).
My recommendation is to go RESONATED. It is plenty loud, is nice and clean sounding and will turn heads for sure. If you eventually go with 2.5" downpipes for example (great for making power) you will find the non-resonated EXTREMELY loud and maybe too raspy.
I went RESONATED on my B7 S4 because people gave me this same advice. A Friend went non-resonated at the same time. Now he says 'I wish I went with RESONATED'.
His car is the yellow one in this video. As you can see he can barely drive the thing in my neighbourhood without shaking the houses lol
and this one. He's WAY louder than an RS4 with full exhaust (the red car he has the little rev-off with). The RS4 has 2.75" catless JHM downpipes, 2.75" JHM resonated catback. The S4 has 2.5" Milltek catless downpipes and 2.5" Fast Intentions non-resonated catback.
