Looking at getting a 2007 Aston Martin Vantage V8
Will keep the A4 as my winter beater and the AM as my summer car.
Guys I know this is an Audi forum so please no bashing. That said there must be a few of you here who have considered the sexy lines of the AM
Does anyone here have any insight as to the costs of annual maintenance? I've been on the AM forums before but they are rather dead to be honest. It seems AM owners have their heads so far up their own asses that they don't even follow their brand like Audi owners do..... Hence my reason for posing here lol.
Cheers and thanks.

I was looking at the DB9 and V8 Vantage (used) just before I bought the RS4 and two things made me go for the Audi:
Aston Martin dealership network & service is almost non-existent in Canada (seeing you're in Ottawa, where do you plan to have it serviced?) and I realized I really wanted the V12, which was way more expensive.
EDIT: actually 3 things made me go for Audi: I love the RS4.
Maintenance is higher than the RS4 too, so have some spare cash around.
Examples for the RS4 at the dealership:
- brakes (all 4) $4,500;
- full service $800;
- regular oil change $250;
- tires are 255/40 R19 so they aren't cheap;
- blow the engine and it's an easy $20,000 to replace.
Are you buying new or used? New, you won't have to worry about maintenance for a while.
Keep us informed, I'd love to know what you buy. GL

I plan to buy used and I am looking at 2 years of saving before I lay down the cash.
For a 2007 Vantage V8 you're looking at 55-65k and since i have all that time I will definitely be researching and asking questions. So far, the only issue most owners have mentioned is that the clutch tends to go a bit sooner than expected but take that with a grain of salt. Clutches are like tires. It all depends on how you drive. I plan to have it serviced at either Tapp Auto or Getty Automotive on Canotek Rd.
We'll see how it goes but so far the wife is onboard and we are on our way..... I just need to stop dumping money into the A4 lol.... Not hard to do since the car has held up quite nicely considering its age and doesn't really need too much by way of maintenance. I'll definitely keep you posted.
