Detailing discussion and Detailing services in Etobicoke
Hey Guys
I have have a part time detailing business that I would like to plug on here if that's OK. It's a part time passion/hobby for me so I usually only book weekends or some smaller jobs at night during the week. PM me for a quote if you're interested.
I have done a some training in Florida at Palm Beach Motoring (autogeek.net) and use all boutique grade products.
I'm located in south etobicoke so you can shop at Sherway while I take care of your baby or even drop it off for a few days if flying out of Pearson.
Would also like to chat about detailing with anyone that's interested, have issues that you need advice on, have tricks to solve issues or tips for cleaning faster or lasting longer....
My site is a work in progress www.canadiandetails.com

Re: Detailing discussion and Detailing services in Etobicoke
I used to detail back in Vancouver a little bit on the side... Had a lot of fun with it and was being taught by a guy who knew his through and through...
If you ever want a hand on something let me know... I live a ways out but I'd love to drive out one weekend if you can show me some tips and tricks (was never shown how to properly shampoo an engine bay etc).
I live in Kitchener and was thinking about starting everything over again and doing some stuff on the weekend for some extra cash and to stay busy. I just love doing it for our cars, family cars, friends cars... There's a passion in making someones car look amazing.

Drop by if you're ever in the area.
I saw on your other post you're looking for an A4, we could go through an engine shampoo on it. They're intimidating but there's not much to them really. Like most things with detailing being careful and not rushing will produce great results.
I'm currently using Griots Garage engine cleaner and have been very happy with it. My biggest problem is forgetting to take pictures after I'm done. haha
I just had 2008 Chevy Silverado dropped off for the full treatment this weekend, it's a big sucker so I have my work cut out for me.
Eshine.ca is having an open house next weekend that might be worth the trip down to Port Colborne. I would suggest bringing cash and leave the credit card at home, they have so much cool stuff the impulse purchases can get out of control. JK

I'll be up at Grand Bend for races and some beach time today... Not sure what I have going on for the rest of the weekend yet.
I will have to take you up on dropping by sometime... I'll PM you my contact. Funny you mentioned the Silverado... You never realize how big they are until you really start on one. I did a Sierra Denali pick up and it was like the body panels were never ending haha...

You're right, those panels never end. This one spent a lot of it's life in Fort Mac and it shows. I've got about 16 hours into it so far and still a ways to go.
But it's starting to look a lot better.

Re: Detailing discussion and Detailing services in Etobicoke
what's the cost of an interior/exterior for a car that's in decent shape
not necessarilyi crazy paint correction...just a good solid detail
also what's the big difference between the P&C and the FLEX polishers? Seems guys never go back once they go flex.

The Flex is a direct drive and in my opinion is a much better machine. I do use the PC with a smaller pad for tight areas and touch up.
Here is a video comparing the 2

If you search autogeekonline.net or one of the other detailing sites there is endless conversations comparing all the machines.
Example:

If you're looking to buy one and want to try them back to back let me know. I'm in the kipling/lakeshore area.
PM'd you about rates.

thanks for the info.
I often think about buying one, then I don't bother. I'd rather leave it in the hands of a pro detailer I think. I'm also likely to cut corners while detailing my own car, whereas a pro wouldn't do that on a customer's car because :
a) it's their business
b) it's their integrity
c) they have the tools and the know how to get the job done perfectly
p.s. PM not yet received. Maybe you're still writing it.

It does take time and patience but it can also be very rewarding and fun to learn.
Just have to make sure you book it with the right person/shop. As with anything you typically get what you pay for.
