Can wait for that week-end track day
I got introduced back in 2005 to the ACNA Advanced Driving School when I purchased my first Audi (04 A6 2.7T S-Line) and found the ACNA documentation part of my car papers.
Took the brand new A6 to the track in Tremblant in the fall of 2005. Two days of track trainning with very competent instructors for about $500.
At first, I was a little worried about the security. I tought that young kids (i am pusching 50) would be roaming the track waiting to put their marks on my cars. Not at all. Security is strongly enforced at these events. Rules are in place and everyone respects them. I never felt in any danger from other drivers.
It's f...kn addictive !!!
Now it's been 5 years and I still do track days. I moved to solo at most of the events and takes alternatively my 06 S4 and my 01 TT 225 to the track.
Next week-end (July 16,17 and 18th) I and going to Calabogie (about 45 minutes West of Ottawa). I just can't wait.
I'll take pictures and post them if I can. I did buy one of those cameras that can be mounts almost anywhere inside or outside of the car. Will see how I can make one of those films available too.
If anyone is interested there might me some places left. Check the BMW Club of Ottawa website (BMW CCOttawa) which organizes this event. Don't worry, almost any car is admited, not just BMWs. Or if you are in the area this week-end (it's one hell of a nice drive to Calabogie and back), stop by the track. It's free to visit the paddock and you can see some pretty nice cars too.
Can't wait to try my new R-Compound tires on the track.
