Default A8 2004---my issues that need fixing...

need to address in the ottawa area:
1-brake light 9simple fix i think0
2- need a "fog light" replaced (is it a bulb or a whole lamp and components /0
3- check engine light comes on for 3 days then off for a few days then back on and off etc. told air/fuel mixture not right--could be many things told--is this so ? dealer said trial and error to find ? sounds expensive. car drives alright anyway.
4-a/c and heat not working at 100%
5- highway speed shake and pulls right. odd wear on front right tire.
6-'slippage' on acceleration -minor but noticeable.

thanks a lot to any replys

oh, and any good non-dealer service in my area and aftermarket supplier greatly appreciated.
thks

1. Brake light may be worn pads. Check manual.
2. fog light is components. Bulbs separate from reflector. I changed bulbs to HID as they kept burning out as the fogs are my DRL so always on. Reflector alone is about CA$300 from dealer
3. get codes for engine light. Could be anything from Oxygen sensor to EVAP valve and more.
4. take to AC mechanic. Could be low on refrigerant - slow or fast leak I wouldn't know. I had a very slow leak. Refill once in 6 years. Could also be temp sensors (2) Again, if something seriously wrong, should yield fault codes
5. sounds like alignment and probably balane as well. uneven worn tire is eveidence of poor alignment. Check for front end problems like tie rods, control arms, etc. They could also be worn/damaged.
6. Is the tranny acting up? Try filter and oil change first for $500, otherwise could be tranny and that gets expensive.

good luck
