Question Retained Accessory Power Function

I replaced the double DIN Symphony stereo in 2000 A8 with a Kenwood DNX7160 and now the retained power accessory function for stereo no longer works. Installer says it won't in aftermarket unit. I think power is wired to a retained power circuit as are the windows. Did the installer use wrong power source for new nav/stereo unit and is he yanking my chain or is he correct? It was an expensive installation from a well known and experienced shop and should be perfect.

Please help.

Hey, I'm curious if you figured this one out? I unfortunately have no insight, but am a new D2 A8 owner and am working on soaking up as much knowledge as possible. Cheers, Adam.

Nope. Guess it can't be done. Also never could get the steering wheel audio controls to work. No one I asked, and I asked a lot, could do it. Some guys in England said they could do it, but I'm here and so is my car.
