Need Help from Audi Owners from an Audi Owner from Toronto
Drove my A6 across the country. I took my Audi to Royal Oak Audi for check up because the engine light was on. They told me that there was a cracked vacuum pipe that needed to be replaced. They told me that it was not under warranty (my Toronto dealer said it was covered). I took the car to another dealer Glenmore Audi and they found out the the vacuum pipe was intentionally disconnected and there was no crack in the pipe. They re-connected it for me. I have a voice message from Glenmore that stated what I have described here.
Audi Canada was no help. They just relayed the message from Royal Oak that nothing more could be done. No apologies, no compensation, no whatsoever.
Is this fair treatment to someone from Toronto? (Hope you guys don't hate us

I'm not sure how someone can say it was intentionally disconnected. Possibly Royal Oak just did some sort of vacuum test and saw that there was a leak. Glenmore may have investigated further and actually saw that a line was disconnected. I think theres too many variables to really escalate a complaint.

Well, if something wasn't cracked/not connected, then I wouldn't suspect a CEL would come on. So far I have been pleased with Royal Oak.

Royal Oak did spent over 2 hours and physically inspected the pipe and charged me $246 for the inspection. They then told me there was a crack on the pipe.

I am sure ChargedA4's comment about Royal Oak's good service is also valid most of the time, otherwise they would not be in business now. But once in a while people do mess up, and then they should have the guts to remedy the problem rather than just ignore it.

Definitely, it's funny how some people have great experiences at a dealer and another person can have just the opposite. I try and do work that I can myself or take my cars to an indy shop.

Latest update: I presented the case to Audi Canada HQ in Toronto and since my case is rock solid (I have voice recording from the mechanics) so they took care of the matter by offering me a refund. They will deal with the dealer though they admitted that there's only so much they could do. Feel sorry for you guys out there who have to deal with such dishonest and unprofessional people. You will never know how much you have been riped off.
