My First Audi - Got lots of Questions
Hi there! I just got my first Audi - previously a Mazda enthusiast...
Its a 2002 Audi A4 Quattro.
1. Some of the buttons in the car are faded or the paint is scratched, do you know where in Calgary I can get those fixed?
2. The centre console latch is broken. Anyone know of a good place to get that fixed, or how I can do that myself?
3. I don’t have an owner’s manual. Anyone know where I can get one locally or online?
4. anyone know of a good mechanic? I want to take it in for a service check. Anyone ever hear of GermanCarSpecialists or Mid Town Service?
5. Anyone got rims or tires for sale?
6. Dynasty AutoGlass the owner has an Audi A4 and said they would replace my windshield for $275 - no china parts either.
Thanks!

Re: My First Audi - Got lots of Questions
1. I don't know of a place that will fix the switches for you but I saw a pretty good DIY repaint tutorial over on audiforums.com once upon a time. You could replace them too I guess.
3. There aren't usually free pdf manuals out there but maybe this quick reference is good enough?
http://www.vaglinks.com/Docs/Audi/Qu...renceGuide.pdf
4. MidTown is a decent shop. I've not heard of the other one. Tunedub and Tony's Auto Service are also good shops I've used.

Re: My First Audi - Got lots of Questions
I would suggest going to audizine.com and the model/year specific section of the forums. Lots of useful info over there about where to get parts and DIY stuff.

You can't fix faded buttons, your only option is to replace them.
2. The centre console latch is broken. Anyone know of a good place to get that fixed, or how I can do that myself?
Common issue, because it is a mechanical part, fixing it with any sort of adhesive will not work and that seems to be the only method. You can either replace that or rig up a hinge for where it is broken.
3. I don’t have an owner’s manual. Anyone know where I can get one locally or online?
Canadian Tire sells Haynes manuals, the manufacturer owner's manual can be found on ebay, I'd imagine there is probably someone local to you who could care less about theirs and would sell it.
4. anyone know of a good mechanic? I want to take it in for a service check. Anyone ever hear of GermanCarSpecialists or Mid Town Service?
Though not from calgary myself, I'd do some research about shops, read reviews, and go there yourself to get a feel for character.
5. Anyone got rims or tires for sale?
Kijiji>calgary>auto>wheels/tires
6. Dynasty AutoGlass the owner has an Audi A4 and said they would replace my windshield for $275 - no china parts either.

2. I have the same problem :S. I work at a high end aerospace machine shop so maybe I should come up with a fix for this and sell it here...?
