Navigation upgrade?

Navigation upgrade?
Hi,
Not really an audio question but....
I just imported a 2007 Q7 S line from California. Got a good deal, and importing was actually a breeze.
Anyway, I'm wondering about upgrading the navigation database, which is missing new streets and some schools, etc. The current database, I believe is the original one from it's in service date of Nov 06.
Is upgrading the Nav database easy or cheap, or neither? Has anyone done this?
Thanks,
Tyler

Re: Navigation upgrade?
you can get the 2010 update dvd from navteq or the dealer last time i looked they were 199 from navteq website.
the disc has the lateest maps for n/a and some small software updates which it does automaticaly when you put the new disc in.

Re: Navigation upgrade?
Hi,
Thanks for the replies.
The Navteq site says they are offering version 10 of the maps for my vehicle, but when I check the version on the MMI, it seems they have a completely different numbering system. How can I tell what version compares to the one I have installed now, in an apples to apples way. The version in for from the car doesn't seem to match any of the info from the web either.
Also, is it downloadable or do I need to order the physical DVD. Didn't find any links on the Navteq site. Are they the only company to order from?
Thanks,
Tyler

Re: Navigation upgrade?
try looking for the disc under RNSE not the mmi the new mmi systems with the seperate screen in the top of the dash are hard disc based. it is strange it says mmi when you turn it on but it is known as an rnse.
you can download it from some torrent sites but you have to know exactly what you are doin in order to make the disc work(building entire file systems and such.
the dealer should stock it or get it in a coulpe of days
also try audiforum.us these guys no pretty much all there is to know about the nav system
